The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a new Medicare Initiative which allows eligible children between the ages of two and 17 years, access to basic dental services. Services include:
- Teeth cleaning
- Root canal treatment
- Fissure sealing
The CDBS will not cover any orthodontic work or cosmetic dentistry.
As of 1 January 2017, each child can access a benefit gap up to $700 over a two year calendar period for the above services.
