Root Canal Therapy For A Lasting Solution

Root Canal Therapy For A Lasting Solution

Root canal therapy is recommended and necessary when a tooth becomes irreversibly damaged, often from a deep cavity, cracked tooth, or a severe tooth injury.

Endodontic treatment, the procedural name for root canal treatment, fixes problems in the tooth’s soft core or dental pulp. Years ago, teeth with diseased or injured pulp had to be extracted. Today, root canal treatment can save teeth with compromised or even dead pulp.

Root canal therapy is a process in which a tooth’s pulp is removed when it gets perished. Pulp is a small thread like tissue in the centre of the tooth. Once it gets damaged the dentists removes the remaining space and later clean it, shape it and filled it.

Treatment may require up to three appointments. During treatment, we remove the diseased pulp. The pulp chamber and root canals of the tooth are cleaned and filled. Sometimes, if there are many roots to the tooth, we might refer you to an endodontist, a specialist in root canal therapy.

To keep the tooth protected, fitting a crown over it is really necessary. With this treatment our dentists can save your tooth which was not possible in earlier times.
